Pierogi & kielbasa pigs in a blanket

It’s a Polish take on the nostalgic (and kind of trendy?) snack! To make ours, we laid our pierogi on a tray to let them thaw slightly so that we would be able to wrap them around the kielbasa sticks.

While the pierogi were thawing, we set the oven to preheat to 375 degrees F. We cut the kielbasa sausages into about 2-3 inch sticks and we crisped them in a pan.

Once kielbasa was crisped, we greased a baking tray and started gently wrapping the pierogi around the kielbasa sticks, securing them with a toothpick. It’s okay if a little of the pierogi stuffing oozes out. It stays in when baked.

Once we had made all of our pierogi & kielbasa pigs in a blanket, we baked them for about 25 minutes, or until the pierogi were golden brown. We paired with mustard for dipping. Choose your favorite! We stuck with a basic yellow mustard to keep with the childhood nostalgia.
